Plastic Recycling: Turning milk jugs into fencing posts
Written by: Admin
Plastics do not disintegrate in the landfill. So, it is absolutely necessary to recycle plastics as much as possible. This video explains recycling milk jugs, oil containers, and other plastics into durable fencing posts.
Pat Kelly at Waste Not Technologies explains the complete process. The first step is grinding the plastic. The blower sucks the ground up plastics into the grinder. The plastics end up into the separator. The plastic flakes (raw materials) come out which is collected in the container.
In the next step, the raw material gets vacuum conveyed and blended with various color concentrates and ultra violet stabilizers. The raw plastic is then melted at 475 degrees. A large hydraulic piston is used to push the melted plastics through the mold to get the desired shape, in this case fencing posts.
The plastic recycling is a growing industry where people are coming up with various ways to convert plastics into useful things. These companies are not just making money, but also helping the environment.
